I'm pretty sure it's a fact that 85% of people on the internet love Portal and automatically enjoy anything that acknowledges the game. I guess it's just that good.

I've played through the first one a few times but I haven't gotten the second one yet. I actually told myself I wasn't going to get it until the end of the semester, because I was kind of afraid that it'd distract me too much from schoolwork. And even though I begin an interim course right away next week, I still consider it the end of the semester, so I'm going out and buying Portal 2 tomorrow.

Speaking of cool games, I looked into L.A. Noire for the first time the other day, and I'm already pretty excited about it. It looks like it's a combination of two things that I really like in games: 1. being developed by Rockstar (the people who brought us games like the Grand Theft Auto series and Red Dead Redemption), and 2. solving mysteries (I'm a huge fan of games like Ace Attorney and Hotel Dusk, so I'm hoping for stuff in a similar vein here). Plus it's using some new motion-capture technology to recreate realistic faces and expressions, which is pretty neat. Not sure if I'll get it right away, but I'm definitely planning on picking it up.

In other news, I added a new webcomic to my links page, Cucumber Quest. It's by the same artist who did those Ace Attorney/Persona/Mother/Metal Gear Solid comics that I linked to way back when. It's pretty new, updates on a pretty frequent basis, and the art is really great and simple. Gigi is some kind of crazy master of colors.
